I blame myself for my carbon footprint
But I spend my time thinking of baser instincts

I could write about systemic brutality, children trapped in a cage
I could write that racism is a mindset every day we struggle to escape
But, at 3am, regimes

I could have like 20 kids, live up a mountain and swim in a Peruvian lake
Or say "sure, one more whisky won't kill me" and end up dead of booze intake
I could learn to be less self-centred
Dismantle power structures at their epicentre
